Self supporting tent.

Can you recommend a self supporting tent for touring/ expedition use, not too expensive like Hillebergs.Thanks.

Vango have a good range of affordable tents.

Personally I would not buy a single skin or one man tent, its always a double skin, two man tent. The small extra weight is always worth it in the comfort stakes.

any 'dome' type tent is self supporting... and as Steve says, go for a two man, double skin.

Vango halo 200 looks good at £140, northface a bit pricey at £455.

I use the Topeak Bikamper, not cheap (@£150) but mine has been good, this blog says it all (not mine)

Hope its ok..I have read a few good reviews about the Lodge 2 and i could have been tempted myself..It would have been hard to justify though as i already have a couple of two person tents...Let us have a review when you have given it a test...

That looks like a great tent for the price. My current tent has two doors and I'd never go back to a single doored tent... they're just too damn stuffy at 6am in the middle of summer.

There's a chap on the CTC forum who runs a cycle camping holiday business, and he reckons they are the best tent he's had in 20-odd years.
