Sending a bike

I've got to send a bike through the post. I've got my bike box but surely I don't drag that down my local PO! Can I arrange for Parcelforce to come and pick it up?

Why not check with some of the independent carriers? Last time I sent a bike it cost around £15.00 with a standard road haulage company, somebody like Lynx or Supreme Parcels, can't remember now.

I used parcel2go before to send a bike, it was IRO £20.00 and they collected from home (or work to be precise.)

Do NOT use Parcelfarce. They are abysmal. Had a bike delivered by them (against my express instructions to the seller) and it was badly roughed up be the time it reached me. Reached me 2 days late on a 24 hour delivery, with the box all smashed up, frame scratched, wheel buckled.

Check this lot out. They're sort of brokers, I think. My stuff's all ended up going by DHL, but a lot cheaper than going direct to DHL. Go figure.
