Sending bikes and repainting a frame

Hey been asked to post this by the fella.

He has an old raleigh racer up in North Wales and would like to get it sent down to London. What is the cheapest way to do this?

He's also looking to get the frame resprayed then build it back up again- what are the costs for getting it resprayed and what's the best place for it these days?

Try sent it now. I've sent frames using their service for around £12.00.

Usual procedures apply - get cardboard bike box from local bike shop. Fabricate some spacers for for drop outs front and rear - local bike shop might have some to spare from incoming new bikes. Spacers are easy to knock up from scraps of wood and gaffer tape.

They ship by weight. You should be able to get the bike into a bike box. Remove the pedals and wheels pad the wheels with newspaper. Remove derailleur at rear and tape it to the fram. Insert spacers as previous mentioned and you'll still get change from £20.

The company is a portal to other courier companies. You get to send parcels at less than the rates advertised by the individual companies. Don't ask me how it works. It's just good value.

i scrounge boxes from local halfords , then wrap frame and forks in foam tubing and sent to where ever neede using paisley frieght (see google) , never had a problem , touch wood . as for re painting never had one done so cant say .
