Hi! A few months back I posted about being attacked by neds on the bike path that skirts Bingham in Edinburgh. I cycled past the entrance to this sector of the path today at about half past five. The entrance was taped off and being patrolled by police officers and an ambulance was in attendance. Looked serious. Anyone have any information? Hope no one got ambushed.

I totally hate that section of path its best avoided unless in a very big group. I remember coming back along there from one of my first 100milers and kids as young as 8 were throwing things bigger than themselves at bikes. They thew a big branch into my front spokes but luckily it bounced off, fuds. I hope tonight events weren't too serious.

Sounds like a job for Rebus, unfortunately Lothian and Borders Police are too busy fighting serious crimes like stopping me on my bike for "driving in the middle of the road" when I was ten yards away from taking the right hand turn I was about to make. Having pointed out that this was the normal place to be in whilst making the said turn, the total dick started to lecture me about my front light being too dim.

Looks like it was a motorcyclist.
I generally avoid using the path in the Bingham area apart from first thing in the morning. Too many low-lifes about.
Don't mind the Innocent Railway part heading down from St Leonards though.

Good news! We could have been reading headlines something like this, "Cyclist killed on popular bike path by youth on motorbike", or "Holyrood schoolkid killed by speeding motorcycle on popular city bikepath". I've no sympathy for trash that endanger the lives of decent people. Motorbiking schemie subhumans have been plaguing this path, and the Magdalane path for years. Maybe if the police had taken complaints about this by the public seriously our biker pal would still be alive.
