I don't know much about Cinco de Mayo
(This may have already been done to death, but I couldn’t find a similar recent thread on the search.)

Let’s discuss those trips we’d like to take one day (Without bicycles).

We can comment on each other’s choices- and perhaps poke holes and make fun. I’m always interested to hear where people want to go and do.

Rules are, as stated, no bicycles. And it isn’t enough to say “I want to go to Mexico”, let’s hear why, and what you want to do when you get there. Illustrative pictures are optional.

Okay, I’d like to fly to Bilboa and hitchhike and hike down through Spain, all the way to Cordoba or Granada. I think it would be great fun and a fantastic way to see the country and meet lots of people. I speak a bit of Spanish so could get by and have some decent conversations. I think hitchhiking is a wonderful thing (although I’ve barely done any of it) as you’re surrendering yourself to the generosity of strangers which is jolly nice when you think about it.

(That's how I'll probably look by the time I get to do this trip.)

Ok. I've only recently got over my hoodoo about flying and set foot in a plane for the first time.

I would like to get to Iceland or north Scandinavia and take a flight to see the Northern Lights from the air. Both Iceland and those very cold bits at the top of the continent interest me as places to visit too so it'd be a week or two up there & spikey bikes may be involved but not on the plane.

I've sort of done my dream trip - driving Route 66 all the way from L.A. to Chicago. But I was much younger and helping my folks move house, so we were driving pretty much all day in an over-loaded people carrier.

I'd like to do the same trip only properly this time, in an old Caddy that handles like a barge and taking my time to enjoy the ride.

Many years ago I went up Australia's East Coast from Sydney, flew to Alice and went up the Stewart Highway to Darwin, then down the West Coast from Darwin to Perth. This took several months, as there was a bit of exploring along the way.

I'd like to close the loop, and go from Perth to Sydney along the bottom, in a nice Kombi. And take a flight over to Tassie so it doesn't feel left out.

One of these, the Mrs and the coast road through Provence ... perfect.

Oh yes. I've already got the car (series 3 LHD)
North sea ferries to Rotterdam, cross Holland to the 'ring. Continue down through Germany/Austria to Milan and the Alfa museum. Continue down to Amalfi coast just to drive it with Matt Munroes 'Days like these' playing :okay:. Then ferry to Corsica or Sardinia and another one to maybe Genoa for a drive through southern France and into Spain for a ferry back from Bilbao.

I'd like to walk from Achnasheen to Sheil Bridge.
26 miles as the crow flies, but as far as you want on foot, through some of the most remote parts of the Highlands around Lochs Monar and Mullardoch. I'd probably want a week for it.
Oh this sounds great, does it involve camping? Hope not, maybe could do it after doing the West Highland way.
Was actually planning a holiday walking the WHW a few years back, then I discovered cycling, went on a CC Ecosse tour instead ... same every year since!

Did this about 20 years ago when I was into hill walking and Munro bagging. Spectacular countryside
