as most of you won't know, i often ride through coventry's shared use subways, today i couldn't be bothered to whistle (my usual warning of approach) and instead chose to melodically call out "ding ding" trying to not quite sound like a bike bell.

as i went down the ramp into the subway i called out "ding ding" and then as I started on the up ramp i saw two young ladies (early to mid 20's i guess) one of whom was in the cycle lane and so called out again "ding ding" to which she replied "ding ding?" rather confused

as i nipped past I called back "i know, I've been meaning to get a bell" and carried on

ah well, thats my morning amusement I guess.

Maybe you should've said to her 'my bells in my trousers thats why you never heard me the 1st time'
