Yesterday I posted something about how I now have few visits from the P*****e Fairy since keeping my tyres nice and hard. When I left to go home, I found I had a flat. Fixed it and came home. Set off this morning, got a p*****e.
First one in 18 months today...... glass shard...replaced tube in double quick time as I was off to a meeting...5 miles away.......patched the hole in the old tube a 'coffee break'.....
I wish I knew how you guys do it. I'm on gp4000 front and gatorskin rear - I know views on the latter differ quite a lot, but even so - at this time of year I consider myself lucky to get one a month. One in 18 months? HOW?
Last year I had one in 2700 miles on Marathon tyres (not the +'s), this year I've had 2 in 100 miles - but the second one was my fault for not doing the job properly. (The first of this year could of been my fault too as I'm not sure the tyre was fully pumped up.)
However I look on it as a positive experience as I managed to get the tyre on and off myself both times which I have usually needed a little help. And I did it without reading any instructions/tips at all (they are now filed in my headwink:.
