Of course it used to be people got annoyed if somebody read their diary, now they post it on facebook or whatever and get annoyed if people don't read it!
I do write a blog on a fitness site that I go on regularly. I jot about my bike rides, day to day stuff and guitar playing. I don't write anything 'real' though, or anything that can come back and bite me.

I have been keeping a diary since 1985 (when I was 13). I used to write every day before I went to sleep; however recently I've been writing it on the train on the way to work - this has reduced the amount of tedious "today I did this" stuff and means it is mostly about hillwalking, triathlon and cycling...

There are volumes I don't want to re-read just now as they cover stuff I am not happy about; maybe sometime in the future I will be able to look back with greater detachment.

I do like writing, making up stories  but not about me or my life, I'm pretty dull.
So, no diaries, a few reports though

I have a log of all my climbs/hikes/scrambles going back around 4 decades.

What I really wish I had (seriously) is a photo of me on my birth date and every birthday anniversary since - i'd love that!

My mum always kept a diary which she updated every evening. One of the saddest things was reading her last few entries in her final one and seeing the writing turning into a spidery scrawl as she was dying from lung cancer.

I used to, until about mid 2003, when I found out that my (now) ex husband, had 'borrowed' them and taken them to the pub and laughed about them with his mates.

It doesn't seem right to like this in case it's taken the wrong way, but hopefully in years to come you can read them and they'll make you smile at all the happy memories they bring back.

Appalling
He was. Awful, hateful creature. Rude to call him a man as it's so insulting to the others. I didn't even know that he knew where they were. Could have been worse, they could have come back with marks out of 10 for spelling and punctuation.

I loved that Houswife 69, story. I read that before seeing it on the TV. A more fantastic bit of journalling, you'd never want for.
