Shimano 105 Brakes and cables

Little bit of advice please.
Updated my brakes to 105's. Also bought new 105 brake cables. However the ferrules that came with the cables do not fit into the cable holder on the brake. The brakes look like they have built in ferrules. Would this be correct? Is it ok to just sit the cable in the brakes without cable ferrules?

Yep, that's how they are fitted. The ferrules only fit into the rear brake cable stops on the frame.
