shimano 105 shifter problems?

the left hand shifter for the front mech broke on my bike a couple of weeks ago - i got it fixed (or rather replaced - still under warranty fortunately). The problem was the ratchet spring. First ride out since it was fixed and the new front shifter has stopped working again, presumably the ratchet spring again. Is this a known issue with 105 shifters or have i just been really unlucky?

As above its a known issue. Contact Shimano to see what they can do for you. I have a friend who sent his back after 2 years of riding.

Ooh that's interesting. I had the same issue just recently and so did my brother in law. Thanks for the heads up.
