As title, grindy bearings, split placcy liner and missing shims.

Offered FOC from north Oxfordshire should you wish to hoist your middle digit to the man and disassemble that badboy for spares / out of curiousity / to fit new bearings...

Will give it a week then it'll be going in the scrap

I wonder what the "DO NOT DISASSEMBLE" warnings were for... Maybe just because Shimano wanted to sell a new BB rather than the customer replacing the bearings with new ones?!

If you'd been quicker off the mark you could have found out for yourself

I suspect it's for the reasons you suggest.. think they're a bit of a queer-sized bearing too so there's probably not a lot of mileage in trying to replace them yourself; as much as the idea appeals.
