Shimano HG73 and 12/27 Ultegra cassette

Hello,
Wonder if you can help!
Have got a Specialized road bike with HG73 chain and HG50 12/25 cassette. Struggling a bit with hills so I have bought an Ultegra 6500 12/27 cassette for the rear.
Have been told that the HG73 chain will fit that cassette but am just wondering if anyone else can confirm that this is likely to be the case?!

They are both 9 speed so yes, will definitely work.
