Hi,
I tried to post this in the Discount bit, but I dont seem to have access, so I thought it might well be useful for beginners.
Just been to decathlon in Merry Hill near Dudly. They have Shimano MT31 for £26.99 but only in size 10.5 or European 45. They only have 8 left now
Im usuall a 10 or a 44 but shimano size a little smaller. They are a snug fit and if I were to be using them for walking I would say they would be too small, but for pedaling with a small amount of walking they will be fine.

Just got to wait for my m520 pedels to arrive from ebay land now...
EDIT: Not all of them had instructions (For shoes!) or the 2 sticky labels for waterproofing when cleats are attached, but Im sure a bit of gaffer tape would do just as well.
