Are you sure these are really an upgrade, are the current wheels worn out?

Thanks, but looking at the 30mm rim depth.

The current wheels having worn out no, around 350-370miles on then at present. I wanted something lighter and look good to with the 30mm depth.

They're just stock rims generally found on specialized bikes

Not sure there'll be a great benefit with entry level Shimanos unless you like the deeper rim specifically. Get decent tyres too

I forgot to add the link! In my defence I did said Ribble Cycles.

There is no real info on the Alexrims.

The Alex website has (some) wheelset specs...

But I don't know if R501s are a big upgrade and I'd be genuinely surprised if the Alex ones have genuinely worn out already.

Vision Team 30s can be had for around £200, 30mm rim depth and bloody quick wheels - mine weigh 1770g (1010 rear, 760 front).

Mind you there are always deals to be had with wheels... I got some Shimano RS30s a couple of years ago which while not exactly light (about 2k the pair), looked truly great and rode stiff and quick especially on flats and downhill. RS31s are 100g lighter.
