Hi everyone, I am not sure if the Shimano RD2300 will work on my bike. At present it has a Shimano Tourney 6/7 speed rd. the large chain ring is 50t the inner is 35t, the small rear cog is 14 and the large is 28 which gives a figure of 29. is this okay to use the RD2300 with.

thanks in advance

Nigel.

I'd need to check Shimano's website to be sure, but I think yes. The range of teeth at each end are fairly similar to a modern compact equipped bike.

No probs, just make sure you adjust the screw that controls how far the derailleur runs from your block/cassette correctly, it shouldn't run too close otherwise might interfere with shifting.
