Hey,

I've got a road bike for commuting and recently got a pair of SPD pedals (M520s) to improve my cycling experience.

I was looking for some shoes that I could use both for biking and a bit of walking to avoid having to take an extra pair of shoes with me. I realize that there's a trade off between how well the shoes do on the bike and how convenient they are for walking. When I get off the bike, I'll be walking 1 mile at most, usually less, and will be sat down for the most part.

The main criteria are that the shoes aren't too slippery (so that I can walk up stairs) and that the cleats have no contact with the ground (as I'll occasionally be walking indoors). The RT32 (touring) and M064 (MTB) both have recessed cleats, and I was wondering if either of these would do the job... Does one have more of a recessed cleat than the other?

I'm not too fussed about the look as long as the shoes aren't too big and chunky, which I've found to be the case with some of the walking-oriented shoes!

EDIT: I'll only be walking on tarmac/concrete flat roads and occasionally indoors. No rough terrain.

Thanks!

The RT32 is going to match the look of the road bike as its a sleaker road bike shoe but the m064 has a broader more rugged sole for grip which may be more comfortable to wear if more walking is involved.
I would say the RT32 is only designed for walking about at a cafe stop or similar not real walking.
Even then, the stiff sole of any cycle shoe is not ideal for lengthy walking
