On the road to nowhere
Afternoon all,

does anyone know is I can swap the 42t chainring on a 52-42t shimano SG double chainring set to something with fewer teeth? I'm struggling on hills after 30+ miles and dont think I can squeeze more than a 26t cassette on the back of the peugeot optimum.

I will get a new bike eventually but even then I want Le Pug as my winter ride

thanks, Kevin

Yes, you may still find a compatible 40t ring if youngsters about.

I put a Dural 38t on my Ultegra crank and it snapped first time out 50 miles from home , I would go with the Zircal one !
