The bit people forget is to push the pistons back before fitting new pads. Then the swearing begins when rotor will not fit between new pads when trying to put wheel back in.

Swearing whilst doing any task is mandatory in my book.
As for the brakes, these new ones have a slightly larger gap between rotor and pad to help prevent disc rub which should also help when changing pads I'd think.

Plastic lever to do this, looked really simple. But I’ve fallen for that before.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

All works fine if pistons have not had to come out too far as pads right at limit. Normally the mineral oil keeps the piston seals lubricated and pushing back not hard.

A tip for you, best way to push the pistons back is to leave the old pads in and push the old pads, you will find the pistons retract much easier and less chance of damaging the pistons.

So I changed my front pads I didn’t bother changing the rear ones as I don’t use my rear brake that much and the front ones were not that badly worn.
However I now get a squeak which is like a quieter version of when some one is breaking with wet discs.
This is happening with my front wheel is on the ground and when I twist the bars from side to side. It’s not the tyre on the floor as it still does it when I put a towel underneath. The wheel runs freely when I spin the wheel and if it’s making this noise and I rotate the wheel a few inches it doesn’t always do it but rotate the wheel a bit more and it does.
I only noticed it at Wednesdays cafe stop when setting of again. Since then I took the wheel out replaced it but the noise is still.
Any ideas or should I just accept my bike is haunted.

So having watched a couple more videos both of which showed cleaning the calipers with alcohol. Obviously we have lots of alcohol in the house. Wine of all colours, Brandy, Grappa, a couple of single malts, Port and lots of stuff Mrs W has bought but never tried. However alcohol from cleaning we had none, Mrs W suggested using lens wipes. So it was remove pads clean the inside on caliper with lens wipe, put it all back together and no noise so far.
