Shimano Ultegra package

Anybody knows what this is for? It came with my new Shimano Ultegra. Not sure what it is for?

It goes on the frame behind the braze on front derailleur. It's to protect the frame from the adjustment screw that sets the angle of the FD with respect to the chain.

They seem to supply it with all FDs. It was in the packaging with a clamp on unit that I bought a few months ago.
