As an aside and in the UK, an interesting report
The recombinant shingles vaccine is associated with lower risk of dementia

Note that for the newer recombinant vacines (eg Shingrix as offered in the UK by the NHS) it's moderately recent and thus lower confidence levels in the results and shorter time for dementia to be diagnosed.

Had my 2nd vax yesterday morning. Apart from sore arm felt fine…………until 21.00. Then. Shivers, shakes and feeling dreadful. In bed at 21.15 and lay awake ALL night, shivers stopped after a couple of paracetamol but my mind was all over the place. Lie in methinks.

Had my second shingrix vaccination last Friday 2 May. For me the main side effect on Friday late night was the exacerbation of the normal mild knee osteoarthritis night discomfort to acute pulses of intolerable pain originating from the centre of the knee. Had to reach out for cocodamol. However, thankfully back to normal Saturday night. Some websites state that a rare side effect of Shingrix is joint pain, so I guess that explains my experience.
