Hi guys, looking to get a pair of clipless shoes. Going to buy the SPD pedals simply because they're pretty cheap and I like the idea of them being double sided.

Can anyone recommend me a decent shoe under the £50 mark (if possible).

If not, can you tell me what to look for/point me in the right direction finding a shoe that's compatible with the SPD pedals.

Thanks in advance!

Ones that fit! If buying online, use retailers with free returns or ot gets very expensive at a fiver plus to post shoes back

For under £50 look at DHB from wiggle or the cheaper shimano models

Also given you're in London, head to a large Evans or cyclesurgery and see what they have. Most are over £50 however wherever you buy

You need a shoe with two holes to take the cleat. If wanting to walk, go for recessed cleats or walking is like ice skating

Shimano shoes come up quite small so well worth trying before you buy. I went in Halfords and tried some on to get an idea. Can't fault my Shimano M162 shoes. That said, they weren't the cheapest but I'm sure you could get some Shimano shoes under £50 if you look around.

Touring or a bit of both: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-mt34-spd-touring-cycle-shoes-2014/

FWIW, I tend to find the touring shoes come up a little larger than the on/off road shoes but that's possibly because they're more performance orientated and need a closer fit.
