shorter cranks

hey,

does anyone know if its possible (and a good idea) to get 165 mm cranks instead of the 170 mm cranks that I have

just don't want millie being put off by catching her toes when i've put mudguards on etc and i think the 5mm difference will do it

It is indeed possible to buy and fit shorter cranks and many do. Lots of discussion in "Cycle" magazine over the last year about crank length and when you might want to change. I'll see if I can find the articles.

Apart from kids, and unless you go to extremes, you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference.

Spa Cyles have some Stronglight Impact in 165mm in both compact double and triple. It'll depend what BB you're running though.
