Shortest Bike Ride

I'm just popped to the local shop (a supermarket) its less than a km (0.6miles) away; given that its convenient to take my bike out of the locker and lock up right outside their door, I think nothiong about taking the bike and the pannier is useful. My old Dublin Commute used to be only 1.2km (0.75miles). I dare say if bike security was an issue I wouldn't be so inclined. What's the shortest distance you would consider cycling?

i once rode across the road from my house to a friends, normal terraced street, a few doors up and across.

Does from the garden shed at the back of the house, to the car at the front, a distance of about 40yards count? To load the bike onto the bike rack so I could travel to Stevenage for an audax ride.

Well daily I cycle with my son to school - about a mile there and back again each time, there are some on here that wouldn't get their bike out for that. But the shortest trip has to be to the post box - about 100 m away - and I even unlocked the shed to get the bike out - I did think afterwards that maybe that was perhaps a bit daft - but I still enjoyed it.

The shortest ride I ever managed (with all the kit on) was about 6 miles (3 miles out) before abandoning due to serious lack of fitness! That was a turning point in my life about 6 years ago - how could I get that unfit? It will never happen again; hopefully.

barbers. About 300 metres. And, right now, bus stop, to meet the love of my life. About 400 metres. Toodle-pip!

I regularly cycle about 0.1 miles to the shop. I don't want to carry a 2 litre bottle of milk back in a carrier bag, I'd rather put it in my basket.
