Should a Topeak large aero wedge bag fit

a selle italia seat? I know this is a silly question, but me and a mate are trying to fit one and it doesn't work. We're not usually too bad with these things.

Does the bag have one of the screw on quick release style plastic clips to hold it to the saddle?

If it's like mine it was an absolute mare to get the clip between the saddle rails. No chance in hell of doing it with the saddle fastened to the seatpost.

Remove the saddle and slide the clip in through the rails sideways wahere the seatpost normally fastens, do up the clip finger tight then refit to seatpost.

(I've missed out the skinned knuckles, swearing and the bit where you throw the saddle against the wall 2 or 3 times - they might be optional).

I think its the one with velcro straps...like my Bontrager one. I struggled to figure out how it was mounted
Fasten the front strap round the seatpost first.
Take each velcro strap (thats mounted at the top of the bag)..pass it round the same side of the saddle rail(behind the seat clamp), pull it down , pass it through the 'buckle' on the bottom of the bag, then back up and it velcros itself on the strap before the 'buckle'

Repeat the other side.

It looks the same system as mine....worth a try.

yep, the standard fitting that comes with clip on Topeak saddle packs didn't work on either my Brooks B17 or my Specilized Alias saddles, I needed to get the F22 fixing bracket.

For future saddle pack purchases I've been looking at the BBB T-bar options, like this one:-

I like the idea of not having to fit a bracket to a saddle, you just twist the t-bar between the saddle rails and hold secure with velcro fastening rounf seatpost. They're cheap enough I may take a punt to try it out.

Don't see the point of the fixing brackets - IMO they look ugly and add weight - I replaced the velcro strap on my Topeak with a leather toe clip strap - nothing difficult about using that, probably only takes an extra 10-15 seconds longer, and no hassle moving from bike to bike.

Nor me on my B17N. I have been using a cable tie for 3 years!
