Should airport taxiways have cycle lanes?

Ahem - for those of you who have problems with WVM - you might wish to avoid the small US township of Jumbolair. John Travolta lives there. This is probably the best known fly-in community in the world with its own 7,550 ft runway and homes with two jet garages. See http://www.fogonazos.es/2007/01/airparks-plane-in-your-garage.html

This is just one of 500. The taxiways are shared use and appear to be no problem for conventional motons with only one serious accident: when a airplane and a bicycle collided on a taxiway. The youngster riding the bike was killed.

I am surprised that somebody on a bike would be anywhere near such places.

On maps.google.co.uk put in 'jumbolair florida' and zoom in. John's pad is half way up the runway on the right. You can spot both his jets - so that bit is genuine. Cyclist? maybe the paperboy didn't have a parachute?

Sharing roads with a 707 is a bit dodgy. OK if you can cycle between the engines but if he revs a bit at the wrong time - messy!
