Young Un...on a serious note on how to ask... when I was about 14 I remember inviting "her" and a few friends down the local lake for some fishing.... I went down early, hooked a bottle with a note saying "will you go out with me" in it onto the end of the line and cast it out.

She turns up before the others, I go "oh look I think I have made a catch" and voila!
