Should I be here?

I joined in here because I used to be a cyclist (of sorts). I'm hoping that's enough! I'm now far too frightened of falling off and breaking something to ride a bike. Is that silly? I used to love cycling and have recurring dreams about it. And yes, freewheeling down hills features a lot! Should I be here? Well not according to the death clock featured in This mortality thing!

Get back on the bike. I've broken bones running and not yet cycling, but start again somewhere reasonably soft if you're in doubt about balance, like a grass track circuit.

Have you considered a trike? They look fabulous fun and I keep meaning to give one a try but don't quite dare as I don't have the finances for one.

I saw a *really* nice recumbent trike at the weekend...

Trouble is I've got borderline osteoporosis. Tripped in the street and broke my pelvis not long ago! And before that broke my arm in a fall. I can even get a cracked rib if someone hugs me too hard (chance would be a fine thing!).

I thought about that. Where to keep it would be an issue apart from expense. But it doesn't really appeal in the same way. I like being higher up. I'll take another look though... thanks.

My wife has OsteoP too, she's not managed to break anything yet but we are rather holding our breath on that one. She was looking at that trike thinking the same thing! Very expensive but ICE do do a folding version...

I'd probably go recumbent trike in your situation. There must be a storage solution...
