Should I be worried

I have just taken the missus to work, and whilst stopped at some traffic lights, a small white van pulled alongside us and gave my car a really good look over, he then wound his window down and asked me to wind mine down, then he asked if it was for sale as he hasn't seen one in as nice condition, when I told him it wasn't for sale, he was genuinely upset and told me he has been looking for one and has been to see a few but none lived up to the adverts, once I dropped Eileen off at work I noticed in my mirror a small white van that seemed to be following me at a distance, so I went up a few streets I wouldn't normally go up and sure enough I kept seeing the van in the distance, so I had a rather spirited drive home and hid the car in our parking area away from sight of the main road, now what would you think, was he a genuine Saab enthusiast, or has my car just been targeted

Did you get the registration number? Sounds dodgy to me
Keep a special eye on your car and maybe advise the Police? They may know of targeting going on in the area.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
That is odd. I'd be very careful DM. Keep an eye open for the van and try to get his number. Then like SL says, call the police.

I'd be careful, certainly, but having said that, if his intentions were dodgy, it would seem a pretty odd way to behave. Why would he approach you like that. face to face? Surely if he planned to steal it, he'd just trail you and keep schtum - and certainly not show his face. Does sound odd though, I can see why it would make you nervy.

Some scrote nicked the wing mirror glass off the wifes car yesterday when she picked up our lad for a hospital appointment , no sign of any other damage to the car so we reckon they had smashed theirs. Its odd driving without an off side mirror as you don`t realize how often you check it till its gone.

Ha! I can beat that. Someone once nicked the speedo cable core from my Honda CBX550 motor cycle. The speedometer appeared to have stopped working overnight and when I unscrewed it from the union on the front wheel, the reason became immediately apparent.

A mate of mine had the top half of his carburettor nicked. We were about to drive to work, when he notice the bottom was not shut the properly; duly shut it then tried to start the car. No joy, so opened the bonnet - where's half the carburettor gone ?

And another mate had his windscreen nicked - again started the car and thought, "something's a bit odd" !

Last night me and the missus were talking about this, and we both came to the same conclusion, whilst he was looking at the car, it wasn't actually the car he was looking at, he kept looking at the wheels, front then back and not stopping to look at the bodywork..........wonder if he has a Saab and just fancies some nice alloys?
