If you were married to my wife there is no difference between the ease of asking for forgiveness and asking for permission.

The consequences however are very different. Forgiveness is easily given, seeking permission is accompanied by a series of nags of increasing severity until I get to the asking for the forgiveness state of affairs.

So I cut to the chase and 'sin' without asking first. It's much less stressful.
