yes, why not.
Just please don't feel the need to subject us to the boring close pass/on a mobile phone style videos.

I actually enjoy watching the videos on here, though my favourite is probably Gaz's silly cyclist ones, good to show the other side sometimes, they have me shaking my head at times for the shear stupidity

Only thing is some peoples vids include 2 minutes of nothing just to get to a minor incident when they could cut that down considerably.

Anyway Ian they are surely more entertaining than watching the 'Blues' at the moment

Rubbish, most people certainly do not.

Since all you see are the people that actually post, how are you counting those who don't?
+1 I also think that people who post vids due to frustration on the roads are the ones who would be vocal about things anyway & the video cam just allows them to get their view across in a different way.

Definitely video, and go further to report those incidents. If nothing else, you'll be making a difference for other cyclists on the road.

should you have an accident and get no reliable witnesses you'd be kicking yourself, if the bike is trashed, maybe you're hurt, and the other party shrugs their shoulders and says 'your fault'

that can happen to anyone at any time, I'd had the odd one like that, you get 20 witnesses or none, regardless of how many people were about

up to you

Most people with cameras play up to them, and then post it on here with the heading “3cm from death”
I am not most people then. I use mine to provide entertainment for me the few others who read my blog; I think there are only a couple of Me Vs. Vehicle incidents on my blog neither of which had any form of playing up associated with it. The only way I, consciously at least, play to the camera is to not look around as much as I perhaps should for fear of getting seasick when watching the playback.

Unfortunately all this is rather academic at the moment as I took the Muvi off in the rain the other night and can't remember which safe place I put it when I got home. My cycling style hasn't changed without the camera.

In contrast with a few respondents who don't have cameras and feel it would make them aggressive or dangerous, I find I ride a lot more calmly when I'm recording and am much more likely to side-step a confrontation.

Having said that, I think it's only a secondary benefit to being able to watch back my own riding and understand what's going on. I learned a huge amount from watching people's youTube channels and being able to play back your own incidents is even more valuable. Especially at first, where you watch back something where you felt 100% in the right and end up thinking "wait a minute, I'm riding like a tit there".

Thirdly, interesting stuff happens from time to time. I've videoed three good 'offs' of my own as well as an entertaining crash by another rider.

Having video evidence against the minute chance that I'm going to get levelled by someone is a (very) distant justification. Ironically, I was once taken out by a hit-and-run driver (pre-camera days) and if I'd been wearing mine they'd have been in hot water, instead of getting off scot free (they saw me before the crash because they were shouting at me to get out of their way while they accellerated through the space I was occupying).
