This is me from 1985, a road race in Warwickshire, Fillongley to be exact. A fantastic Every frame in 531SL, the usual GP4 rims on Campag Record hubs, Campag Nuovo Record gears, 42/52 SR Royal chainset, Maillard compact 6 block, Weimann brakes, Cinelli bars, Benotto tape, Duegi wooden soled shoes. Riding in the colours of Shirley Roads Club, my first club. Little did we suspect then that the design of a white jersey with dark sleeves and two vertical stripes would one day find a place in the pro peloton.
