My veins used to bulge so much that doctors and nurses thought they were in for an easy time until they tried to get the cannulas/needles in, then they started tearing their hair out. Nowadays, they bulge if I hang my arm down by my side, and disappear if I raise it over my head.

I made the mistake of having a TIA in the morning before id had anything to drink. As a result my normally accessible veins were sunken and required much digging around by the nurses. I had some horrific bruises afterwards.

I did say 'You're so vain' to a nurse taking my blood once, when she mentioned how easy it was for her to take a sample. She smiled, probably thinking WTF is he on about, seeing as she was probably born 20 years after that song came out.😉
