Just a heads up for everyone that this event gets its second run next weekend (31-5-2015).

There was some good close racing round a tight and partially cobbled course last time. All good fun.:okay:

Also the day after tomorrow it is the Anfield 100 mile TT which I think [excuse my ignorance on county boundaries] is at least partly in Shropshire, dr_pink of this parish is competing in a top field. It is in the area of Prees Heath [top of course] then loops between Shawbury and Crudgington. For anyone interested in watching or popping along to say hello the final 3 loops of the course are anticlockwise, A53, B5063, B5062, A442. Start and finish are near Shawbury. HQ is Shawbury Parish Hall. Start time for dr_pink is 07.19 .

Shrewsbury introduced me to some really lovely cycling routes and if you are looking for hills - the mountains of North Wales are not far away!

So, how did it go? Well I hope? :okay:

Sorry I didn't get over to spectate - wanted to get my weekend project completed.

Not a good day at the office, little sleep and up at just after 3am then a 2 hour drive was not the best preparation. Just before the start dr_pink's bike developed a brake problem then at 40 miles in she developed breathing problems which we think was from the tree pollen in that area. She continued to ride but really should have climbed off, anyway finished in 4th place with 4hr 41min, very disappointed as she has done a tougher course in 4hrs 28mins. If she had ridden without problems I have no doubt she would have won but that's the way it goes sometimes. Chapeaux for not packing in.
A 50 mile to look forward to this Sunday in The Vale of Belvoir which will be tough when your confidence has taken a knock.

That's still still some going well done for battling through . .Don't get to down @dr_pink you still put us mere mortals to shame :notworthy: and you know it was a bad day and hopefully know the reasons .

It may not be the result you wanted @dr_pink but it still seems pretty damn impressive to me. :notworthy:

I can sympathise about the tree pollen - I've been suffering with it at work today (work is roughly 6 miles across country from Shawbury). It does seem particularly potent this year.

Good luck for the Vale of Belvoir.
