On the way back from the shops there’s a hill and I have never been able to get up there in double figures normally about 8-9 mph, but today I felt quite good and I hit the bottom on the hill doing 13.5 mph, I peddled hard and half the way up still pushing 12 + and the end was in sight down to 11mph down to 10mph......then I collapse in a bloody great heap hanging over my bars grasping for air and fumbling for my inhaler.......why do I do, it silly old fool.....

if you're going to do that again, post a list of all your bicycles and bike stuff on here first. If you peg out, we can divvy it up.

Well done, by the way. If it's any consolation Chris Hoy sometimes faints in training. You're in good company!

Numbnuts - are you asthmatic? If so, I have a tip that might help you! I am asthmatic too; I always take two puffs before I start my ride. If I do that, I never seem to get an asthma attack en-route, no matter how big the hill!

No not asthmatic, I have emphysema and it is getting worse this year, I can’t see me riding in two years time the way it has been going, I just have to make the most of it
