Ah, that's a different area though; I was thinking of Somerset Camels. Might well be the same derivation though.

Pennsylvania, on the A46 near Bath. Valley of Desolation in North Yorkshire. And a couple of Gloucestershire ones: Cold Slad and Catbrain
Illinois has a Pennsylvania Corners.

Idle, in Bradford.
Youth Club may still be open.
The Working Men's Club is oversubscribed.

True story. The police station in Idle was renamed Eccleshill because the then chief constable refused to allow it to be called Idle Police Station.

Have we done Bolton Percy, near Tadcaster? Uncomfortable prosthetics......

Clenchwarton near Kings Lynn always makes me think of Preparation H.

It's really Ash, but the signwriter was strangled as he wrote it...

Blubberhouses. How could I forget Blubberhouses. Particularly after the TdF, when it became the Cote de Blubberhouses.
It was the Forestry Commission's Marketing person's fault, they shouldn't have phoned to order the new sign with a cough....

I always like the sound of Nempnett Thrubwell. It sounds rather naughty !

My Nempnetts only Thrubwell after over 50 miles on the bike.

Then there's Upham, and Lower Upham in Hampshire.

A PC Fawcett was allegedly posted to the Police house in Upham.

The force standing instruction for answering the telephone was to give surname and station in that order.

(the above may be a myth!)
