Baked haricots in a tomato marinade, served on lightly grill-browned breads.

I've had the Italian version - Borlotti alla pomodoro on Bruschetta.

Tonight, it's mashed swede and carrot, and a lamb pasty, courtesy of reductions at Sainsburys (the pasty) and the recycling (the veggies, found today, left out with the recycling, perfectly fine)

Mashed swede and carrot sounds lovely.

I love root veg in the winter - proper seasonal British hearty fare - cook it all and save some for bubble and squeak the next day :hungry:

Yeah, the mash was good, made with a decent dollop of butter. All served with plenty of gravy... :hungry:

Bubble and Squeak tip: If you have Sprouts and Chestnuts as a combo at Christmas, leftovers from them make a really nice B and S - the chestnuts just add a sweetness...
