I agree - it's great.

I wish Neil MacGregor would do more TV shows. He did a fascinating one on paintings in the National Gallery a few years back.

He comes across as a genuine enthusiast and a real expert.

The Times "Man of the year" in 2008

I doubt he will get on TV though - not "sexy" enough for the TV companies.

Slightly OT - I met a well known TV presenter in the field of archaeology who has made a number of programmes for the BBC. He said he was recently rung by a production company about making a new series on a certain period of history. He said great, no problem (he is freelance). They then said - actually we don't want you to present it we're looking for a woman in her 20s or early 30s - can you recommend one!

Has to be Dr Alice Roberts, then. I know she's on our screens a lot, but I can cope with that.

If you are enjoying this series, can I recommend 30,000 Years of Art, a stunning book tracing the history of art all over the world from 28,000 BC to 1995. 1,060 pages, full colour photographs and brief explanations, 31 x 31 x 8 cm for less than 18.50 pounds.

Errr............ one doesn't need a TV licence to listen to the radio. If one did need one, it wouldn't be called just a TV licence.
no but it contributes to the overall output you contankerous ****. how about contributing to the thread about the topic, oh i forgot most of the time you take it as an opportunity to whine about something else. why dont you use your time online to benefit and go and get some culture and listen to the podcasts instead of negative contributions. ******!

Soooooo much anger........

I was merely pointing out licensing requirements for receiving either purely audio or visual with audio broadcasts.

Chill by admiring some art and literature.

Perhaps Picasso's Guernica reflects your inner turmoil ?
