I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that, eventually, someone would seek a way to make some cash from a simple idea.

Especially after our very own guide (of the same name!) has received nearly 30 thousand views

This was sent to me yesterday. I may buy a copy to see if we have been quoted!

But why electric bikes? It's like having a mountaineering magazine with a section on ski-lifts.
A mate at work used an electric bike to help get his commuting fitness up. He's now doing his 6.5mi round trip on an ancient MTB with a semi slick on the back, knobbly on the front and he's still quicker than me on a road bike over the same distance.

To be fair i don't think you were the first person to come up with the idea of riding to work - and most if the information on the subject is common knowledge made up of universal truths and already in the public domain.

Exactly.......

We took a 95 year old up Snowdon by train so he could relive some memories. He could no longer walk up,but should that exclude him from the experience of being in such a high place and the views?

It allows those with disabilities, fitness problems, age or infirmity to participate

One of my staff cycles to work on an electric bike at 60, and my wife rides one due to disability

It's called being inclusive

true, but putting it in one place for all to read was a relative first....I don't mind really, just annoyed that folk don't know that the info is here...for free... for them all to read.

Bah humbug!

I've read this magazine several weeks ago now. Very little I didn't already know or that I needed to know. Quite a bit on the cycle to work scheme too. Nice to see a magazine aimed at commuters of all types. Has a very good article on casual cycling clothes for casual riders who don't travel very far.A useful read and a nice alternative to the Road or Off Road magazines out there.

for about 3/4 months you are saving money, then you're eyeing up a 60 quid mount to mount your smartphone to your bars to you know when to hammer that Strava segment.

Guide needs to say:

1. Buy a road bike cos your gonna get one eventually
2. Get thee to Aldi/Lidl.
3. Get a helmet camera / airzound
4. DON'T GO UP THERE.
Rider there looks a bit dynamic. As if he's on a mission. And why is he wearing a helmet? And what's he staring at so excitedly?
More importantly, why has he rolled up both trouser legs? On his way to a Masonic meeting?

Nice blue sky no frost on the grass and he's got the full winters gloves on? Bet his hands are pretty sweaty.

Looks like he's about to jump a medium sized pothole.
