Based on how AMAZING the SS Peugeot was for both my fitness and strength , I am looking at a SS MTB for this winter.

On-One does one for £700

Any other suggestions ?

singular swift If you make a few well chosen compromises on components, i.e. cheap stuff which you'll upgrade when it breaks or wears out you can build a devine ss mtb for C2W money on one of these frames.

Sorry for the moon speak

I'm happy with my On-One Inbreds. Bought frames and carbon forks for relative peanuts, built rest from bits lying around - eventually upgraded as I could afford it. Not light frames and a little industrial looking but sturdy, nice ride and plenty of clearance for fat tyres you need round here - that said, I'd now go for a 29er if starting from scratch.

Whatever you get, I'm sure you'll find it a lot of fun and good training - I've even started to develop some indication of muscles in my arms for the first time in the 20 years since I gave up climbing
