How was your 'race' today?
It was alright!
Woke up with a sore throat and feeling crap, not a good start, might have been tempted to give it a miss had I not persuaded a couple friends to try it for the first time. Some lozenges and hot tea later it got better then forgot about it during the race.
Finished up 51st out of 91 total in the Open class, had a good race with one rider from start to finish, kept overtaking each other. He was extremely quick downhill but I managed to finally drop him on one of the later fireroad climbs (a spectator at the top even said "He gave it to him proper there!" and so won the battle.
Good day out overall, need to get some more intensive training in to finish in the top half, I'm always just outside it.
