Out cycling last summer I called in at pub on Bingley's main st, it had a nice beer garden, it also had some garden sheds on one side with drinkers sat in them, I thought this was odd as it was very nice sunny day and I'd not thought, "I really want to sit in a shed".

Last night I was out cycling (Now I've actually started this year there is no stopping me) and stopped for "fuel" at the Black Hat in Ilkley. This too had a nice beer garden......and also some sheds, I was soaking up the sun in a deserted beer garden looking at others sitting in the full-to-capacity sheds, drinking.........

I don't get it, I have a shed at home, is this a UK wide craze that has passed me by?.

There is a rather nice cafe in Oakham that has a couple of sheds in their outdoor area, rather nice when there is a bit of a breeze as they give a bit of shelter. I can see the idea at the pub working just as well because people will stay outside a little longer as the evening cools.

We went to a really lovely pub on the outskirts of York with a much less regimented affair in the extensive garden. Quite a neat idea for rainy evenings I think.

They look useful, I think

I once booked a log cabin in Kinlochleven only to discover it was a Shed when I got there , they look pretty big in the photo but are only about 8ft by 8ft , bed on either side and about 2ft of floor space in the middle , the whole campsite is only about 20 metres by 20 metres .
