It certainly was, we never saw a rugby ball in school. It was only the sons of farmers, who sent their offspring to fee-paying schools down south, who played rugby when they came home. The farmers are not so wealthy now, so I think all that has changed.

Do they Celticets at Murrayfield? It's often half-empty (or half-full, depending...) I forsee a good game, as the Scotchmen do have an Englisher as a coach...

Really though? Perhaps everyone in the Borders drives an expensive car and dresses very smartly then. That was my recollection of Hawick and other smaller clubs in the 80's/90's any way.
