It all starts tomorrow, here's hoping for a good opening victory for Scotland against Englandshire :becool:

Scootland for the wooden spoon?

Head says all the home sides will win this weekend.

Heart says England all the way.

Italy will collect the pasta spoon again.

Waheeeeyyyy!

Come on England. Nice to see Phil Dowson ("cousin Phil" as Cubester's mate Myles calls him....) finally picked for the squad.
With 3 of the Scotland squad coming from my home town, I will be 100% behind Scotland.

Although i'm English through and through I have never been a big fan of English rugby (union), I always remember it as an upper class elitist thing played by the posh south of the border. So its definitely Flower of Scotland for me tomorrow.
I take it you've not played much then?

I could point out it tends to be played by the posher north of the border too.

Try telling the crowd at Franklin Gardens that they are posh and elitist!

It certainly was, we never saw a rugby ball in school. It was only the sons of farmers, who sent their offspring to fee-paying schools down south, who played rugby when they came home. The farmers are not so wealthy now, so I think all that has changed.

Leaving the toon on a 12:30 train to go and watch the game:smile: don't really care who wins if I'm honest
Overnight stay and back tomorrow night. think it could be a messy one:o)
As to "played by the posher north of the border" - certainly not here in the Scottish Borders, its every bodies game. Actually you don't really get posher people here, nobody ever seems to put on a silly posh accent and talk down to others.
Really though? Perhaps everyone in the Borders drives an expensive car and dresses very smartly then. That was my recollection of Hawick and other smaller clubs in the 80's/90's any way.
