God that was awful. A fitting conclusion to a trio of terrible games. The other two at least had the excuse of dreadful conditions, but for England there's no excuse. I suppose if you wanted to take anything positive it would be the idea that that's what successful teams do - grind out grim wins even when they're off their game. But really...I never thought I'd be praying for the final whistle, at Twickenham, against Italy. It wasn't just that England failed to score a single try. They never even looked like scoring a try, at any point. Suddenly the slam looks a long, long way away...
