Terrific effort from Scotland this weekend...same for Italy at 10-10, great to see.

Italy's ploy is easily countered - two or three big forwards close by to get the ball from the player who has been tackled and then rumble up the pitch. A quick off-load is what is needed. All of this would make the game more exciting IMO by adding another variable to the play options. What surprised me was that none of the England players was bright enough to work that out. Good for Italy.

Yes that the England players couldn't work it out for themselves is definitely a surprise, and I suspect a worry for the England management.

His choice - not a bad record for a Scottish coach - played 34 won 18 lost 16 - it will be interesting to see how long it is before he pops up as the French Coach

He said in an interview on Radio Scotland the other week that he would have liked to stay on as coach, but his contract was always for it to end this year.
I agree he should have been offered a new contract though.

Looks like Farrel is out for tomorrow....dunno if that's good or bad tbh, never really warmed to the guy despite his obvious kicking ability.
Scotland looking excellent this year (despite the upthread doom mongering) suspect England will get beaten if they play like they have done so far.

I'm a bit cynical given Eddie's track record for the odd mind game. If OF still isn't on the team sheet at 3pm tomorrow, I'll start to believe.

If he does miss the game, Ford isn't too bad a kicker and may be a good thing to liven up the midfield with say Joseph and Te'o

Just waiting for @Marmion to claim it's all a plot by (rugby)Unionist Scum to try and pull the wool over honest, hard working Scots folk.*

* Assuming there is any such thing as an honest, hard working Scot.

As a matter of idle speculation, I wonder what the correlation is between having an interest in Scottish Rugby Union and supporting The Union.
There will be vast numbers of rugby fans singing the anthem who bottled it big-time when given the chance to be a nation again. Shameless.

Anyway, swing lowwwww
