And France in Paris next weekend, we havenae won there since 1999. Another gubbing.
Continuing my new approach - I reckon England will pump Scotland. Like a proper pumping.
And following my prediction at the start of this thread, I hope they do as well![]()
And for a change I can't blame the ref for any dodgy decisions, though he consistently let the Irish scrum line up on an angle and favoured them at the breakdown.
And ignored the Scottish offside, interference at the ruck and obstruction.
There was one very odd penalty where the ref quite clearly said the ball was out of a ruck. Then penalised the player for pouncing on the ball. Even the commentators didnt know why, and in a tight match 3 points makes a big difference.I thought the ref in the England match had a great game. He seemed to be getting all the important decisions right, insofar as I understand what's going on, and kept what could have become a snarly game of stops & starts flowing. And he seemed to have very good communications/rapport. Can't remember ever hearing a referee say to the players let's not start playing silly buggers.
Don't worry, all the remaining Scotland matches will be huge defeats, the opposition are likely to be home and dry in the first 20 minutes.I don't think I can stand 13 more matches like the first two. Scotland deserved their win, or possibly Ireland deserved to lose! And England were plain lucky! Games on.
Yes, I remember that. Can't remember ever seeing such blank bafflement on the faces of players. Usually they know in their heart of hearts when they've transgressed, but that was definitely a case of 'Unh?' He did explain tho' - if you're claiming a ball that's squirted out of a ruck, you have to do it while on your feet. I've never heard of the rule, but presumably it's correct. There was one very odd penalty where the ref quite clearly said the ball was out of a ruck. Then penalised the player for pouncing on the ball. Even the commentators didnt know why, and in a tight match 3 points makes a big difference.
Translation from Marmion subconscious: This could be Scotland's year.....Don't worry, all the remaining Scotland matches will be huge defeats, the opposition are likely to be home and dry in the first 20 minutes.
