I tried skiing once, ended up in a German hospital with a plaster all the way up my left arm, now I have a ceramic thumb socket!

I guess drinking and skiing wasn't my proudest moment...

Love skiing but just can't afford to it anymore.

Innit...

Went once, loved it, but sadly could never justify the cost to repeat. One of the few regrets of my relatively low-income life. Definitely something I'd have done on a regular basis if money was no object.

Piste skiing is quite simply the most exhilarating sport that a non-sporty person can enjoy without too much practice, especially with today's equipment, which is so easy to use..
You may very well be right that, were I to be forced to participate in a sport, I would find skiing the most exhilarating available to me. In the meantime, I'll stick to my cycling thanks.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Now tell me that "Warm apple juice (slightly sweetened and diluted if it comes from your own apples)" is not also "too middle class for words"? ^_^^_^
There is no class hatred quite as powerful as that of members of the English middle classes for other members of the English middle classes.

I learnt to ski in Kashmir. I was pretty much the only white person.

Best snow there I've ever seen.
