Skoda Fabia Scout 1.4 TDI

Hi everyone,

I am selling my 1.4 TDI diesel Skoda Fabia Scout (estate version of Fabia). It’s 2WD and they are often seen used by my local fire service to get around in but not the more commonly seen bigger brother Octavia scout version which is 4WD and used by the ambulance service in Teesside.

It has 87,000 miles on the clock, is a 5 speed manual. £30 VED.

I have owned the car since 35,000 miles and used it as a family car and then later as a commuting car. As I am now working from home I can’t justify keeping it as doing <10k a year.

Before I bought it at 3year old it was a mobility car so well looked after by Derek Slack motors in Middlesbrough and has carried on been looked after by independent garages, mainly HyTech garage in Middlesbrough and RMB for MOT.

There are not many 1.4’s around mainly 1.2 petrol or 1.6 diesels, in fact none for sale nationally at the moment!

It has low mileage for age but does show the usual sign of age. It is a very solid car that I will be sad to see go. Only ever had to replace tyres and the boot struts and general consumable parts such as tyres and windscreen wipers. I’ve always had high mid range or premium tyres fitted and tried to look after it.

Has alloys, cruise control, ESP override, metal sports pedals, full service stamp history and receipts which I can show you. Lots of room and storage spaces, takes a pram in boot. Side airbags in front seats, variable windscreen wiper speeds, parking lights and front fog lights, 4 electric windows, air con and 2 keys. Skoda mats included and a cargo net.

Happy to take viewings and any questions.

Grab a great car at a great price, I’ll be genuinely sad to see it go! If you want reg number for checking etc let me know via PM.

£3,500. Based in Stockton on tees.

As somebody who has made a very good living out of the motor trade can I make one suggestion that will make the car far more saleable.

Spend £30 having the car valeted at one of the hand car wash places.
I didn't like to say.

Yes - peel that gaffa tapemoff of the number plates.

There are good reasons to hide the number plate i.e. a person's address can be traced. But, as a buyer, I would likely think the seller is trying to hide the freely available MOT history. Thereby, suggesting there is summat wrong with the car.

I'm sure there isn't in this case, but that is how many buyers think.
