Someone has to start a thread so it might as well be me.

So who's going then?

I've just seen the route for this year and it's a lot more interesting, going through the city centre.

BTW Hilldodger, did you cycle past me on the Great Central Way on Tuesday night about 7.20? If so I (we) were the couple you pinged your bell at just before you turned off. If it wasn't you then someone is going round in a convincing Roger mask.

I'll be there, well, mostly at the Cyclemagic do at the Pumping Station - I'm helping set up, and then I'll be mostly on the Velo Vision/Electric Bike Mag stand - but I'm hoping to get a chance to borrow something and do the ride as well...

Currently planning to be there. My Mum lives in Leicester (I'm sounding like an Arch echo, here), so intend to pop down to the Pumping Station, etc.

Looking forward to being there.

My god, you must be my brother!

I didn't know I had a brother!

Oh. I suppose your mum and mine might not be the same person....

Every time you visit, so you end up with a food parcel of garden produce, over-stocked stuff and general extras, no matter how much you protest?

Does she still assume that you need advice on whether to put a coat on or not when going outside?

Does she still take delight in trying to feed you up when you are trying to loose weight?

1. Not really - she bring cake when she visits, and will happily offer a sandwich for my train trip home..
2. Yes, a bit.
3. No, not really - she's delighted that I've shifted a bit of weight, and she has a much better diet than me, so I get a better variety of meals at home, in sensible portions.

She does worry about me though. If she rings home and I'm not in, she'll ring my mobile and if I answer (assuming I'm not in the cinema or something) she'll say, a little hesitantly "oh! you're not at home then...." and I have to say no, I'm out, I'll ring you tomorrow...

If I told her I was going out for a ride, I'd have to ring her when I got back safely....

i hope to be there if everything goes as planned will be on the trike will be good to see people and talk face to face

Or if they are on uprights, face to knee.... ;)

I dunno what sort of bike I'll be on, I'm going down on the train sans bike, and to do the ride I'll have to borrow something from Cyclemagic.

Which could be anything!

Have to duck out of this one. Been asked to work this weekend in London, so can't be around on Saturday. Also my Mum mysteriously hasn't got a spare room for me to sleep in that night. Can't work out why.....
