Came back from N Wales this morning to do the ride, but the weather here has been rubbish. Got soaked unloading bikes from the car. Only just clearing up so haven't bothered - my daughter wouldn't have enjoyed getting soaked.
Glad to be home, baby sitting the two in-laws has been very hard work.

Looked at the weather this morning and very nearly didnt bother as i have a thing about this rain thing 
. But about 10oclock decided to get the waterproofs out and go check it out. Im really glad i did, very well attended and well set out, i really enjoyed the ride and the things set up around castlefield. It also opened my eyes as to how some people are really serious cyclists and also too the quantity of different cycles that are available, styles and makes. Got back to citys ground just as a very heavy shower hit. Arrived home, cleaned and dried off the bike, a quick sparay with wd40 and a brew and sandwich later im thinking i can get into this lark. Oh and the rain? suprinsingly no it didnt bother me at all.

Didn't go on the Sky ride, but did go out and get caught in a heavy rain shower. As it was an off-road ride there were plenty of trees to shelter under for 5 minutes

Went with the wife did 17 miles got wet but we both enjoyed the day. The highlight for me was riding along Deansgate without a car in sight

Went with the wife & daughter - nice to see young and old alike enjoying cycling/
Clocked up 26 miles too-longest wife has ridden so going in the right direction.
Sounds like us - we did 21 miles, longest my fiancee's ever done.
Despite rain and wind she really enjoyed being able to cycle down Deansgate etc on her bike with not a car in sight. It's a great event, really gentle and family-centric. There are some right miserable gits on here - for me anything that encourages people to cycle is a big plus, whatever their ability/gear. We spent a lot of time fantasising about how nice it would be if there were NO cars in Manchester....

Not on the brakes or the gears, around the head tube, crank, stem, etc, gets rid of grime and expels water, then a wash down and wipe off, have always used it more so when owning motorcycles, never had a problem when using it.

We had a great time yesterday, despite the weather.
The first person my kids bumped into ( literally) was Chris Hoy who was impressed with my 8 year old son's green tutu and matching leggings.
Only did two circuits as my kids were more interested in the bmx course, rugby and tricksters plus the course went past The Samsi so we stopped for sushi.
Cycled from out of town so only did 28 miles altogether but had lots of fun
We ended up in the Manchester Evening News tonight and then bizarrely bumped into Chris Hoy again today as my daughter was riding at the velodrome and he was on after her session.
Now feel like we are stalking a cycling superstar! Or maybe he's following us, looking for fashion tips!
Whilst at the cycling centre had a look at the new indoor BMX track which is immense. Shanaze Read was going through her paces so great to watch two British champions in one place training.
