Decided to thin out my bookcases and drawers by making digital scans of old photographic slides, and then binning them.
So now I have a bag full of slides headed for the tip, but also a bag full of old slide boxes (the basic kind that they come from the developers in - small plastic box with 2 or 3 compartments, plus lid).

It seems to me that the boxes must have some kind of use other than heading for the recycling skip, but I can't think what! I've co-opted a few as mini desk tidies, but that's it.

Any ideas?

I wouldn't bin your slides*, if something happens to your computer then you'll regret it later.

Always better to have a hard copy somewhere.

* - By all means throw away the 'crap shots', but don't dispose of everything.

Agree 120% with MDB - don't throw the decent originals away. Apart from loss of data you never know how scanning technology will develop.

We got all parent's cine film onto video in the nineties. DVD now promises a chance to repeat the exercise with much better definition.
